about
There was an attempt to add a vocal performance to compliment the samples, referencing the infamous character of Estella from the Charles Dickens' novel, "Great Expectations". Ever since being exposed to Dickens' classic in 9th grade, I've always felt a sort of connection to Pip, his desire to be something more than he was born into, and his endless chasing of a love that was trained from birth by her mentor to manipulate and destroy the hearts of men. Needless to say, most of my romantic entanglements over the years have all contained elements of the abusive rapport between Estella and Pip, one that often left Pip down a road of self-loathing and bitterness.
However, the lyrics themselves felt stale and the vocal performance itself was just weak. I imagine that had I not already be overwhelmingly frustrated with MOVIE MAGIC to begin with, I may have eventually found a way to fix the lyrics and vocal performance. At the same time, with the sheer amount of vocal sampling being incorporated, here, there's a good chance that any vocal performance I would add to this track would sound completely out of place. The song works well enough on its own merits and, like "Movie Magic", may not actually need lyrics to feel "complete" to others.
lyrics
¿Por qué bailar soilito, mi angelito?
¿Por qué no bailar conmigo, un poquito?
¿Por qué bailar soilito, (Solito)
Mi angelito? (Mi angelito)
¿Por qué no bailar conmigo, (Conmigo)
un poquito? (Un poquito)

[Why dance alone, my little angel?
Why don't you dance with me, my little one?
Why dance alone, (Dance Alone
my little angel? (My little angel)
Why do not you dance with me, (Dance with me)
My little one? (my little one)]
