While this will sound like an incredibly immature song lamenting life in the "friend zone" (and it admittedly is), this is also about those people who put you in the "friend zone" never intending to be an actual friend to you, at all. The people who say you're "just friends" because they "don't want to hurt you" but honestly wish you'd just go away, altogether.

It's one thing to be "friend zoned" by someone who actually wants to be just friends. It's another to be "friend zoned" by someone lacking the courage to just be honest enough with you to say that they don't actually want you in their life at all.
