The lyrics to this song were originally written for the track that eventually became "Acoustic Guitars Will Never Hurt You" for BREAK THE CODE. I know, it's hard to believe, isn't it? This doesn't sound like it'd fit on that track at all, right? Well, believe it or not, that's exactly why I ended up changing it. I kept the lyrics handy in case they'd work for a future song, and I'm glad they did.

This track likely represents the closest I've come to "commercial pop" with an original song since "Candlelight Vigil" (with "1979" being the most commercially viable song I've recorded overall, originally written for the Smashing Pumpkins by Billy Corgan), and it may actually be one of my favorite instrumental track out of the entire SaviorSelf.07.05.98 discography.

Anti-Theism is a recurring theme in my life, as well as my music. Obviously, this was written as a response to renown creationists such as Ken Ham, Kent Hovind, Ray Comfort, and former child actor-turned evangelist Kirk Cameron. The incident that triggered this, however, was learning that Ray Comfort was giving away copies of Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species" with a slanderous forward written by Comfort, himself, attempting to attack Darwin's findings and push his Creationist agenda on college students.

And in case Ray Comfort and/or Kirk Cameron ever find out about this song - Yes, it was and will continue to be directed at the two of you, specifically, for your on-going attacks on common sense, evidence-based science and your cowardly posthumous slandering of Charles Darwin and his research.
