Remade for the 90's back in 2003 by a band that wishes it was still 1983
And the Real Van Halen toured with them so David Lee Roth could rock out loud

Britney Spears played for the 16th time in 25 minutes
And I don't think I can hear her song again...

If I could go back and remember the days when my radio was great
And the DJs played whatever the fuck they wanted to play
But soon afterwards the money ran out and the station had to shut down
And the hip-hip stations and the schlop-pop stations
They all rolled into town

They tried to blame the death of radio on video but we know it's not true
It's because of corporate greed and censorship

My radio died last night of boredom
The 45th time they played "Hey Ya" in a 15 minute span
Every station in the tri-state area played, "Shake it like a Polaroid picture"
I couldn't take it anymore...

But when Tom Petty sings about this tragedy, the Heartbreakers lose their spot
I guess Clear Channel pulled the plug on The Last DJ.
